SILVER CITY (November 1, 2012) Today, U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce continued his bus tour of New Mexico, in which he will travel over 1,300 miles and visit 20 cities in New Mexico's Second Congressional District. Pearce attended a lunchtime rally at Wrangler's restaurant in Silver City, where he was greeted by a strong turnout of voters and local candidates.
"The choice today is ours," said Pearce. "We face a decision between two futures. The President promised to fundamentally transform our country, and we've seen the direction we've gone as a result. We New Mexicans have lost our jobs. We've lost our freedoms. But by voting on Tuesday, we have the opportunity to choose a different future—a future of smaller, more efficient government. A future of lower taxes. A future of personal responsibility, accountability, and liberty. And a future of jobs, for New Mexico and for America."
Today, Pearce is taking his bus tour to the western side of the district, making stops in Deming, Lordsburg, Silver City, Glenwood, Quemado, and Grants. Pearce kicked off the bus tour Tuesday in Hobbs, and has already visited Carlsbad, Artesia, Alamogordo, Anthony, and Las Cruces. He has been joined by numerous local candidates throughout the bus tour, who have united with Pearce in his priority of jobs for New Mexico. Throughout the "Fighting for New Mexico Jobs" Bus Tour, Pearce will be visiting with local supporters and candidates about jobs, the economy, education, and other issues of concern to southern New Mexico. In his eight years in Congress, Steve has focused on creating jobs and fixing our economy through lower taxes and less spending, and is committed to continuing to fight for New Mexico's families.
The bus tour will conclude in Portales on Saturday, November 3.
