On November 04, 2012, it was reported to the Silver City Police Department five motor vehicles were either damaged or broken into while parked either in the Flame Convention Center parking lot or across the street from the Convention Center. The Flame Convention center is located at 2800 N. Pinos Altos Rd.

According to the reports, the vehicles were probably damaged or broken into sometime between 10pm on November 03, 2012 and 6am on November 04, 2012.

Two of the vehicles, a green 1998 Toyota SUV and a grey 2003 Ford 2-door, were damaged only. The driver's side window was broken out of both vehicles. The Toyota was parked across the street from the Convention Center and the Ford was parked in the parking lot of the convention Center. Nothing was taken from either vehicle.

Three other vehicles, a black 2010 Toyota pickup, a red 1988 Jeep SUV, and a red Hyundai Accent, were broken into and items taken. Items taken included a black Rue 21 wallet, check book, debit cards, credit cards, insurance cards, money, a blue Coleman back pack, pink and green notebook, a pink WNMU shirt, a Coleman flashlight, a brown Fossil wallet, a brown Fossil purse and wallet. Total value of items taken from all three vehicles is approximately $ 210.


On November 04, 2012 at about 6:15pm, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of W. 8th Street. The vehicle was a silver 1999 Subaru Outback.

According to the investigation, the burglary occurred sometime between 1pm and 6pm on November 04, 2012. The registration and vehicle insurance was taken from the vehicle. The vehicle was left unlocked.


On November 04, 2012 at about 6:23pm, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported at Fox Field which is located on 32nd Street. The vehicle was a white Ford 4-door. The vehicle was parked on the south side of Fox Field at the time.

According to the investigation, the burglary occurred sometime between 6:15pm and 6:22pm on November 04, 2012. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. The vehicle was locked up, however the windows were down enough so someone could reach in and unlock the door.


The investigation is continuing into these crimes.
