The Silver City Police Department is seeking information on a number of vehicle burglaries stemming from incidents occurring between October 13 and October 17, 2012.


1. On October 13, 2012 at about 7:05 am, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported at 2709 Leslie Rd. The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the Gateway Apartments at the time of the incident. The vehicle was a black 2006 Nissan Armada SUV.

According to the investigation the burglary happened sometime between 10:30 pm on October 12 and 7:00 am on October 13, 2012. Items taken from the vehicle were a Pioneer Car Stereo, Apple I-Pod, car backup camera, and a radar detector. The approximate total value is $1230. It appeared the vehicle may have been left unlocked at the time of the theft

2. On October 14, 2012 at about 1:35 am, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported at in the parking lot of the Flame Convention Center, which is located at 2800 Pinos Altos Road. The vehicle was a gold 2002 Buick 4-door.

According to the investigation the burglary happened sometime between 8 pm on October 13 and 1:00 am on October 14, 2012. Items taken from the vehicle were a Walther P22 pistol and a Camouflage leather wallet. The approximate total value is $350. At this point it is unknown how entry was gained.

3. On October 14, 2012 at about 11 am, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported at in the parking lot in the 900 block of W. 12th Street. The vehicle was a black 2010 Chevrolet SUV.

According to the investigation the burglary happened sometime between 9:40 am and 11:00 am on October 14, 2012. Items taken from the vehicle were wedding rings, credit cards, Cell phone (Unknown Make), and bank checks. The approximate total value is $1600. Entry into the vehicle was gained by breaking the driver's side window.

4. On October 16, 2012 at about 3:03 pm, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the parking lot on the south side of Albertson's. The vehicle was a gray 2003 Kia 4-door.

According to the investigation the burglary happened sometime between 12 pm and 3 pm on October 16, 2012. Items taken from the vehicle were an HP Laptop, $30 in cash and a grey and black purse. The approximate total value is $862. Entry into the vehicle was gained by breaking the front passenger side window.

5. On October 16, 2012 at about 8:47 pm, a burglary of three motor vehicles was reported in the parking lot of the Calvary Baptist Church, which is located at 186 Truck Bypass Rd. The vehicles were a red 2005 Chevy 4-door, a white 2005 Dodge Pickup and a silver 2001 Dodge Dakota Pickup.

According to the investigation the burglaries happened sometime between 7 pm and 8:30 pm on October 16, 2012. Items taken from the vehicles were a Makita Electric Saw, purses, wallets, $50 in cash, Samsung Cell phone, credit cards, driver's license and bank checkbook. The approximate total value is $360. Entry into the white 2005 Dodge Pickup was gained by breaking the driver's side rear window. The other vehicles appeared to have been left unlocked.


The investigation is continuing into these crimes.
