Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is pleased and proud to announce that Christine McIntosh, Grief and Bereavement Counselor in the Hospice Department has been selected to receive the Catherine Edgar Award for Humanity by the New Mexico Association for Home and Hospice Care (NMAHHC). This prestigious award is bestowed on an individual in recognition of their exceptional professionalism, kindness and patience revealed through their dedication to providing compassionate end of life care to patients and their families.
Chris, who has been a Hospice Grief and Bereavement Counselor for the past 13 years, six with GRMC Hospice, received the award at the Annual Conference held in Albuquerque on November 8, 2012. Chris provides invaluable services to Hospice families and the community guiding them through the bereavement process with compassion and kindness. She organizes and coordinates several Gila Regional community events including Light Up a Life, Growing Through Grief and the Prayer Flag Project.
