Silver City Astronomical Society Program
Saturday, November 17, 2012
1:00 pm

The Silver City Astronomical Society program, normally scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of the month, will be delayed until Saturday November 17 due to a conflict on November 10th with the very first Science & Astronomy exposition to take place in Tucson on the 10th.

On the 17th, Tom Clark, SCAS Member and retired telescope maker, will guide the Saturday, November 17 program for the Silver City Astronomical Society at the Private Room of Isaac's Grill at Bullard & Broadway. The program is a light hearted look at the history of amateur telescope making over the last 30 years.

Tom has designed and built over 200 telescopes, ranging from 10 - 42" in diameter. He is the author of The Modern Dobsonian, Practical Shop Cabinets, and published Amateur Astronomy Magazine from 1994-2008. Tom and Jeannie are now building a new 24' dome to house their 42" Dobsonian between Silver and Deming. Club members will be invited over for observing when the project is finished in a few months.

The program begins at 1:00 pm and usually runs until 2:30. Society t-shirts will be available. For more information, contact the SCAS at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit www.silverastronomy.com.
