SANTA FE - Governor Susana Martinez will be in Roswell tomorrow for the dedication of the Damon Talbott and Robert Solis Memorial Highway. Both men were New Mexico State Police Officers who were killed when their helicopter crashed during a training exercise in October 2001. Governor Martinez will deliver brief remarks at the event.

Damon Kyle Talbott was a native of Roswell and graduated from Roswell High School in 1998. After attending Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell, he joined the New Mexico State Police Academy in 2000 and graduated from the 64th New Mexico State Police Recruit School in December of that year. Born on November 5, 1979, he was 21 at the time of the crash. Ramon Robert Solis, grew up in Roswell and graduated from Goddard High School in 1989. He proudly attended New Mexico Military Institute and graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in 1991. Solis moved to Las Cruces to continue studying at New Mexico State University and enlisted in the United States Army, serving as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. After returning home to Roswell, he served in the National Guard and graduated from the 64th New Mexico State Police Recruit School in December 2000. He was born on January 17, 1971 and was 30 at the time of the crash that took his life.
