Santa Fe, NM – Several Legislative Interim Committees are meeting next week. The Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee will meet Tuesday, November 20, at the State Capitol in Santa Fe at 9:00 a.m. in room 322. Also on Tuesday, the Mortgage Finance Authority Act Oversight Committee will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority Office in Albuquerque. On Wednesday, November 21, the Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. in room 322 of the State Capitol.

Senator Nancy Rodriguez (D-Santa Fe-24) serves as chair of the Mortgage Finance Authority Act Oversight Committee and Representative Joni Gutierrez (D-Doña Ana-33) serves as vice chair. Jay Czar, Executive Director of New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) will give an update on the Authority, followed by a number of presentations on topics including changes to MFA rules and regulations and an update on the Regional Housing Authority. The committee will also conduct a final review of proposed legislation for the upcoming session.

On Tuesday, the Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee will hear presentations on the statewide comprehensive plan on long-term care options for veterans and the status and impact of the Veterans' Treatment Court. They will also review proposed legislation for the upcoming session. Committee co-chairs are Representative Thomas A. Garcia, (D–Colfax, Guadalupe, Mora, San Miguel, Taos–68), and Senator David Ulibarri, (D–Cibola, Socorro, Valencia–30).

On Wednesday, the Revenue Stabilization and Tax Policy Committee, chaired by Representative Edward C. Sandoval (D-Bernalillo-17), will discuss a number of issues including legislative proposals for the upcoming session.
