Virus Theater invites the Silver City and Grant County community to a Launch Party on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 6pm in the back room of the Little Toad Creek Brewery & Distillery. The Launch Party is the opening event for Got Sol? 40K in 40 Days, Virus Theater's online crowd-funding campaign. The Launch Party will include the first public showing of the video made by Virus Theater for the campaign, and complimentary appetizers and champagne for at least the first 50 guests.

Virus Theater's Got Sol? 40K in 40 Days online Generosity.com campaign includes a video, still photos from Virus Theater's long history of past performances, and a concise and compelling story of Virus Theater and the vision for El Sol Performing Arts Center. As art, so in life - Virus Theater aims to inspire people with connections to El Sol, to our region, and people excited about art in small communities, art at the edge of the wilderness, and more!

The online campaign is a continuation of Virus Theater's fundraising efforts to transform El Sol Theater into El Sol Performing Arts Center. In November 2015, Virus Theater raised over $50,000 in individual donations from our community, and then another $10,000+ in donations were given by community members and friends in the 11 months since then. Renovations have begun at El Sol, with the catwalk installed and front gate design underway. The goal is to have El Sol's doors open to the public, with Phase One renovations complete, by the summer of 2017.

Information will be available at the Launch Party about how to spread the word about the campaign and how to make a donation. Virus Theater is hosting this fun event to bring people together to build upon our community's incredible enthusiasm and support by asking people to reach out to their wider circles of interest out about Got Sol? 40K in 40 Days. Virus Theater also welcomes a first or continuing donation to the campaign, and will have information available about making donations online, as well ways to donate offline.

The mission of Virus Theater is to create original live theater that is relevant to our community, educate our community's adults and children about theater, and produce theatrical performances that are accessible to our diverse community. The vision of Virus Theater is to bring people together through theater to better understand our shared humanity and to inspire individual and collective growth. Virus Theater has been creating live, original, creative ensemble-devised plays since 1997, and is now also focusing efforts on renovating El Sol Theater into El Sol Performing Arts Center.
