WASHINGTON -- In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) Tweeted yesterday that he will participate in a "Twitter Conversation" about creating jobs and opportunities in Hispanic communities on Oct. 5 at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Joining with the Center for American Progress and Latism, the largest organization of Hispanic professionals engaged in social media, Udall will answer questions and discuss how Hispanic communities would benefit from policies to create jobs and help small businesses.

Twitter users in New Mexico and across the country can Tweet questions any time between now and Oct. 5. To send a question, simply Tweet a message of fewer than 140 characters that includes the hashtag #HHMChat for Hispanic Heritage Month Chat. During the "Twitter Conversation," Udall and contributors from the Center for American Progress and Latism will answer a selection of questions.

This "Twitter Conversation" is part of Udall's ongoing efforts to make his work in Washington and New Mexico accessible via new media. In addition to Twitter, Udall also maintains an active Facebook page, and regularly posts videos and photos to YouTube and Flickr.
