BACKGROUND: Senator Tom Udall (D-NM), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Children's Health and Environmental Responsibility, will convene a hearing to conduct oversight on the status of existing federal plans and activities to clean up contamination from legacy or Cold War era uranium mining and milling operations.
