Elena Milo Delgado, 85, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home.
A prayer vigil will be this Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Baca's Funeral Chapel at 6 o'clock in the evening led by her niece, LuAnn Milo Bustamante. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday morning at 10 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Victor Pineda Jr., Armando Milo, Danny Milo, Tony Pedraza Jr., Valentin Bustamante Jr., and Aaron Joe Milo.
Elena was born April 26, 1927 in Needles, California to Gonzalo and Maria (Falcon) Milo. She was a homemaker and enjoyed walking, exercising, and being with her family. Her family will always cherish their memories of her crocheting, baking and dancing, especially when she danced the mambo. Elena was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Leonor D. Pineda of Deming; daughter in law Michelle Delgado-Lucero of Las Cruces; brothers, Manuel Milo (Elena), Henry Milo (Rosa), Gonzalo Milo, Joe "Butter" Milo (Tina) all of Deming; sisters, Irene Bustamante (Valentin) of Deming, Angelica Garcia of Temple, TX, Rosa Torres of Compton, CA, Cecilia Pedraza (Tony) of Deming; 4 grandchildren, Victor and Albert Pineda, Gabrielle and Danielle Delgado; 4 great grandchildren, Vanessa, Albert, Becky, and Victor Pineda III, and many nieces and nephews; Elena was preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo P. Delgado, 2 children, Reynaldo M. "Junior" Delgado and Linda Morales; and 3 brothers, Luis, Jesus and Robert Milo.
