Epitacio Ochoa Ordoñez, 94, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1924 in Hurley, NM to Antonio Ordoñez and Angela Ochoa Ordoñez. Mr. Ordoñez proudly served his country with the U.S.Army. Epitacio was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He was employed for over twenty years as a produce manager for Bailey's Food Market. He also worked for over twenty-three years at Ft. Bayard Veteran's and State Hospital. He enjoyed going deer hunting and to part in many yard sales. He was well known for having yard sales along with his wife Isabel. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and going out dancing. He was a collector of antiques and taught himself carpentry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Isabel of the family home; two sons, Epitacio "Pete" Ordoñez Jr. and wife Cynthia of Santa Clara; Richard Tanori of Santa Clara; three daughters, Ruth Garcia of Bayard; Carmen Ransom and husband John of Santa Clara; Emily Ybarra of CA; ten grandchildren, Matthew Ordoñez (Kristen), Aaron Ordoñez, Justin Hernandez (Michelle), Jessica Dominguez (Richard), Susan Alcorta, Ernest Alcorta (Melissa), Lisa Aguirre, Joy Silva, Trisha Gabaldon (Nestor), and Michael Ybarra; twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and seven great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Frank Tanori; six brothers, Emiliano Ordoñez, Frank Ordoñez, Johnny (Juan) Ordoñez, Refugio Ordoñez, Antonio Ordoñez Jr., and Angelito Ordoñez; three sisters, Carolina Garcia, Jesusita "Jessie" Sandoval, and Carmen Gomez. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7 from 10-10:30 a.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 10:30am with Deacon Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service and interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Aaron Ordoñez, John Ransom, Richard Dominguez Sr., Richard Dominguez Jr., and Ernest Alcorta. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Ortega, Jonathan Armizerro, Margaret Portillo, Rudy Mesa, Bobby Rico, and Justin Hernandez.
