Gerald "Jerry" Dean Perry, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away in Hurley, NM on Monday, December 10, 2012.
Jerry was born December 31, 1929 to John and Margie Perry, in Franklin, AZ. He served with great honor and bravery in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Ozbourn during the Korean War from 1949-51. In 1951, Jerry married his sweetheart, Nita Mae Waddell and fathered 5 children.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nita, children Claudia Graves, Zoann Adams, Pete Perry, Sam Perry and Lynnita Moreno as well as many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, his sisters Elaine Motes and Patty Jo Claridge, and nieces and nephews.
Jerry retired from NASA in 1985 to the mountains of Quemado, New Mexico. He relished the time he spent with his family and enjoyed staying in contact with friends and family using email and Facebook. Jerry will be greatly missed and holds a dear place in the hearts of all those touched by his life. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 15th at 1pm at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Duncan, AZ. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
