Chila gave a piece of herself to each and every one of us, not only in the form of scarves, blankets, rugs, booties, or beanies, or painting she gave herself to us. A genuine and good-hearted soul, she was faithful and devoted to her church and was a spiritual leader for her family. She had a welcoming nature about her. Chila's home was always open, full, filled with food, family and friends; even strangers flocked to her side for a taste of her red chili. Not only was she our connoisseur, Chila was the life of the party. The craftiest of women, the type of woman that made her daughters' prom dresses; our fun-loving grandmother, mother, wife, sister, Tia, and best friend was truly a unique presence. The memories of cascarones during Easter, bingo markers, canicas, dice, green chile roasting, and her booming laugh will always remind us of this talented, caring, and supportive woman, Chila.

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo "Dickie" Padilla; siblings Thomasa Ogas, Corrina Martinez, and Nenel Sedillos and wife Nora; her children Emilia Pavia and husband Raymond Jr; Ricardo "Boy" Padilla and Betsa; Stevan Padilla and wife Brenda; Evangeline Montoya and husband Mike; Sara Montoya; Rachael Gallosa and husband Richard; Lisa Trewern and husband John.
