Milton H. "Sam" Reed, 85, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Friday, November 9, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 13, 1927 in Mule Creek, NM, to James Arvel and Nettie Larremore Reed. He was a long time member of the Mason's, Shriners , Scottish Rite and long time Deacon and greeter for First Baptist Church in Silver City, NM. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 yrs. Betty Reed of the family home; one son, Hugh Reed and wife Verna of Silver City; one daughter, Joan Garcia and husband Jeremiah of Silver City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jiggs Reed of Lordsburg; Clyde Reed and wife Janice of Cliff; one sister, Peggy Knapp of Las Cruces; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim Reed; two brothers, Skeet and Virgil Reed; one sister, Carrie Reed. Visitation will be Monday, November 12th from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service to follow at 11am with Pastor David Goble officiating.
