Nico Chavez Alederete, 88, Deming resident went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2012.

Visitation will start Monday afternoon November 26, 2012 at 3 at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the prayer vigil there that evening at 6. Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday November 27, 2012 at 10 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

She was born April 17, 1924 in Derry to Lino and Nicolasa Chavez. Nico was a very hard working woman, assisted anyone that was in need of help. She was a loving mother, sister and friend. She loved her pets, sewing, singing and horseback riding. Nico was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Eileen, husband, Eddie, Virginia, Marlene, husband Hector, Tina and Ramona; a son, Tommy; her brothers and sisters, Santiago, wife, Lupe, Josie, Rosie, Ramona, husband, Lewis, Lorie, husband, Joe; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Eusebio, Cruz; sisters, Belen, Bila, Jenny, Maria, Lupe, Barbara; stepsons, Bobby and Louie and grandson, Hector Jr.

The family would like to say thank you to Mimbres Memorial Hospice, Senior Citizens Volunteers, Village of Northrise Rehab Center and Mountain View Hospital for all the kindness and support; as well as Eddie, Josie, Santiago, Raymond and Isabel. Thank you to all those who surrounded Nico with love and prayers.
