MaynesRichardRRichard Ramos Maynes Sr., 71, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, August 2, 2025 at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.  He was born November 24, 1953 in Santa Rita, NM to Domingo L. Maynes and Carmen Ramos.

Richard was a communicant of the Infant Jesus Shrine Catholic Church where he served as an extraordinary communion minister. He was a Cursillista and had a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy. With this devotion, Richard would lead the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the Sunday after Easter, known as "Mercy Sunday," which also inspired his establishment of the Mercy Cross Store, which he used to spread the message and the devotion. The passion led him to design his Divine Mercy Cross and to distribute it to everyone he encountered. He also loved music, especially Tejano music, and always enjoyed playing music for family, friends and various celebrations. For a time, he also played music for the residents of Fort Bayard Medical Center and Silver City Care Center (Genesis).

He also enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. Richard loved to spread cheer by being Santa Claus at the local elementary school, as well as for Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

Richard was most proud of his loving wife of 56 years and his sons and daughters (his commandos and cheerleaders), grandchildren, great grandchildren and Kitty. In the community he was known for accompanying his wife Yolanda on his side-by-side utility vehicle while she went on her evening bike rides.

Richard was a friend to all and touched many hearts with his humor, infectious smile and good-bye blessings. Our beloved Richard will be missed by all those he touched and inspired throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda R. Maynes of the family home; six sons, Deacon Richard Maynes Jr., (Veronica) of Hurley; Raymond Maynes (Sonya) of Roswell; Reyne Maynes (Melissa) of Santa Clara; Ralph Maynes (Amy) of Omaha, NE; Ret.
