Robert was born to Frances Misquez Garcia (later Montoya) and Marcelino Garcia in Santa Rita, NM on September 23, 1949. He left this world in his home where he had lived for all but twenty years of his life in San Lorenzo, NM.
Robert graduated from Central High School. He started his own business, Southwest Pest Control which he ran for forty-three years. He enjoyed being his own boss and driving around the southwestern part of New Mexico helping to rid his clients of any house pests that were troubling them.
Robert was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time in his workshop where he would work on various projects, fix nearly anything that broke, and create many different welding creations. He did his best to pass on his knowledge and experience, teaching anyone who wanted to learn and help with these projects. He was most proud of the workshop that he and his nephew, Patrick, built from scratch. They drew up the design, poured the foundation and welded every bit of that shop together. It was his ultimate project that he took pride in.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy M. Garcia and her husband, Justin Tibbitts of Duluth, Minnesota and their two sons, Gabriel Federico Tibbitts and Cruz Antonio Tibbitts. He is also survived by his sister, Celia Stenzel and her husband, Rick along with their son, Ricky; his sister, Genevieve Patera and her husband, Pete and their children, Peter and Caui. He also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Raymond V. Salce and his parents, Frances and Marcelino.
