JassoStellaIn Loving Memory of Stella Jasso

February 2, 1942-October 23, 2025

A life beautifully lived, a heart deeply loved.

Stella Jasso, a lifelong resident of Deming and a beloved gem of the community, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Stella's life was one defined by love, laughter, and service—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The most uplifting woman to all who crossed her path, Stella had a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. She believed that no one should ever be left out, and that there was always a seat at her dinner table. Her laughter was contagious, her hugs unforgettable, and her words of encouragement could lift anyone's spirit.

A fighter and a survivor, Stella bravely battled—and beat—breast cancer, showing remarkable strength, grace, and faith through it all. Her resilience inspired everyone around her and proved that joy and hope can endure even in the hardest moments.

Stella was a true pillar of her community. She devoted many years to serving others through the Deming Noon Lions and El Pasiano Lioness Clubs, where she helped countless people see the world more clearly by ensuring those in need received the gift of vision. Professionally, she was a sharp and dependable bookkeeper—organized, trusted, and meticulous in her work.

Outside the office, Stella's heart belonged to her hometown spirit. She was the ultimate Deming Wildcats superfan, faithfully cheering from the sidelines of every field, court, and course. Whether it was a game, a performance, or a meet, Stella was there—never missing a beat, a catch, or a putt. Her lifelong dedication to Wildcat pride was formally recognized in 2023, when she was honored at the Wildcats All Sports Banquet as Wildcat Fan of the Year. Her love for her community also shone brightly when she proudly served as the Grand Marshal of the 46th Annual Great American Duck Race in 2025, a well-deserved honor celebrating her joyful spirit and civic devotion.

Stella also found great joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved to dance, sing, and fill every gathering with laughter and music. Her bright spirit mirrored her favorite bird, the hummingbird—small yet full of energy, grace, and endless life.

Her memory lives on through her children, Christopher Jasso (Graciela), Yvonne Perales (Richard), Danny Jasso (Melanie), and Rebecca Jasso. Her 12 precious grandchildren, Chelsea Barber (TJ), Jasmine Pedraza (Xavior), Grisel Rodriguez, Zachary Jasso (Katie), Nicole Jasso, Deryk Perales (Kayla), Jordan Perales (Rebekah), Aaron Perales (Kristen), Nattruell Jasso, Nathaniel Jasso, Brianna Valdez, and Damien Valdez. Her 10 loving great-grandchildren- Eva, Everrett, Emmett, Tinsley, Walker, Jett, Keston, Xoe, Mya, & Trevor; all of whom she adored beyond measure. To them, she was more than "Granny"—she was the heart of the family, the source of laughter, and the keeper of all cherished memories.

She is survived by her brothers, Milo Armijo (Marcie), Felix Armijo (Lupe), and Robert Armijo (Howard), her sisters, Rose Sanchez and Anna Jean Armijo-Garcia (Victor), her loving sisters-in-laws, Maggie Armijo and Shelly Armijo, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family who will all forever treasure the moments, stories, and closeness they shared with Stella throughout the years.

Stella's love extended beyond her family to her cherished godchildren—Missy Marquez Maynes, Joe David Grado Sr., and Lori Urbaniak—each of whom she treasured as her own.
