Understanding, identifying and learning to process grief is the topic of the Death Cafe, a free, monthly meeting open to everyone interested in exploring death-related topics. Kathleen Flynn, retired Hospice and hospital chaplain and ordained minister, will guide participants in an exploration of grief.  Flynn is also the author of Essential Grief, a book about recovery from loss.

Day of the Dead  - Evening - Please join us for our annual Celebration of Dia De Los Muertos.

We will have an Ofrenda set up in 'the Lodge' where community is welcome to add their photos, memories, calaveras, flowers or other items of significance as we welcome the Spirits of our loved ones to visit with us, join together in remembrance, share stories, and food and drink in their honor. Guadalupe Montessori School is holding its fifth annual Fall Festival Fundraiser. This year's event will also include a capoeira workshop taught by Muleka Capoeira and designed for children of a variety of ages and abilities. Benefitting the small, not-for-profit school serving children from 18 months through 12 years, the festival is open to the entire community. The afternoon events include carnival games, hayrides, face painting, crafts and cute animals to pet and pose with. We will be accepting applications through Friday, December 5.  Toy distribution will be at the Santa Clara Armory on Saturday, December 20.  No walk-ins will be taken.
