In celebration of World Water Day 2026, the Silver City Watershed Keepers is organizing a hike along San Vicente Creek focused on the historical importance of this waterway to the industries and sanitation systems of our Town. The hike will feature a guest expert, Bob Schiowitz. Bob is a retired Forest Service archaeologist, serves on Silver City's Trails and Open Space Advisory Committee, and is an active outdoorsman, mountain biker, and trail builder.

The Silver City Museum presents "Managing a National Forest," a community conversation with Gila National Forest Supervisor Camille Howes. Attendance is free and open to the public. The talk opens the museum's Land, Labor, and Legacy Lecture Series, which traces the natural, human, and civic forces that shaped this region, and what these stories mean today. It also marks the first community conversation of the year. Howes will discuss the history of the U.S. Forest Service, and explore the complexities of managing one of the nation's premier natural assets, including the preservation and stewardship challenges currently facing the Gila National Forest.

Performed by Silver City actor Hallie Harris, the 60-minute play follows Alice, a woman who heads north after a fight and keeps driving until somewhere in the Arizona desert she loses her dog. What begins as a search for the missing animal turns into an unexpected journey involving animal control, desert encounters, and a woman forced to confront the gap between the life she has and the life she longs for.

Marine Corps League, Gaffney-Oglesby Detachment #1328 will hold its regular meeting, as they do each First Saturday of the month, unless circumstances require changing the date. Rev. Carole Czujko is a retired Unitarian minister. For over 20 years she worked mostly in the tech sector. In midlife she changed direction to study the world's faith traditions and mythologies in seminary. She has served as a hospital chaplain and congregational clergy. Rev. Dead Meadow is a Washington, D.C.-based band known for blending heavy 1970s-style stoner rock riffs with dreamy 1960s psychedelia and folk influences. Local playwright Brenda McFarlane will premiere her new one-woman comedy Dog Gone this April at the historic El Sol Theatre in downtown Silver City.

Performed by Silver City actor Hallie Harris, the 60-minute play follows Alice, a woman who heads north after a fight and keeps driving until somewhere in the Arizona desert she loses her dog. What begins as a search for the missing animal turns into an unexpected journey involving animal control, desert encounters, and a woman forced to confront the gap between the life she has and the life she longs for.
