Job Opening: ASSISTANT AT LITERACY LINK-LEAMOS
Literacy Link-Leamos is a non-profit offering free, one-to-one tutoring in Math, Social Studies, English, Reading, Writing, and Job Skills— helping adults (aged 16+) to improve these skills, or pass their GED or HiSET. Literacy Link-Leamos also offers ESL and Conversational English classes. In addition, we oversee the Let's Read program for elementary school children, providing hundreds of books for Grant County school students to take home.
The Assistant's Role
The Assistant, under the supervision of the Director, will be responsible for data entry, basic bookkeeping, scheduling students and tutors, covering the office (sometimes on their own), updating the content on our Facebook and web pages, answering correspondence, and occasionally assisting the Let's Read Program Director. The Assistant may also be called upon to represent Literacy Link-Leamos by organizing and tabling outreach events. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter, punctual, comfortable working with the public, organized, possess good, basic math skills, familiar with Microsoft technology ,and capable of learning simple social media.
Hours and benefits
25-hours per week based at our WNMU, Watts Hall offices. Flexible hours within reason. Opportunities for professional development, training, in-state travel, and advancement. Paid vacation and sick days after qualifying period. No WFH. Occasional Saturdays. Friendly work environment with plenty of variety. Starting pay, $20.00 per hour.
