PROGRAM DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Ensure that the LLL office hours provide accessibility for the public.
Office-based tasks include:
• Recruiting, interviewing and screening prospective learners and tutors;
• Enrolling and matching learners with appropriate tutors;
• Aiding tutors in selecting materials to use with their learner;
• Creating media publicity for LLL, its activities and programs;
• Reviewing literacy materials and resources for appropriateness for LLL programs and clients;
• Prepare and update calendar of LLL events;
• Prepare and record budgets for office and program supplies;
• Purchase program and office materials as needed;
• Research and submit applications to funders to secure funding for the Program Director’s position; and
• Research and submit grants to fund supplies, materials and other needs of the LLL tutoring program.
Other Duties include:
• Must be able to use LLL technology to manage emails, create documents, and spreadsheets;
• Maintain program data for the preparation of grant reports;
• Prepare and submit Program Director reports for the Board of Directors. Format and frequency to be determined by Board;
• Strengthen partnerships with libraries, businesses, organizations, and social service agencies to promote and expand literacy services;
• Travel occasionally to conferences, trainings and meetings;
• Work occasionally on weekends and evenings.
Pay starts at 20.00 per hour DOE between 25-35 hours per week paid vacation and sick time
