IT is DEFINITELY a scam.
PNM would not call you.
NEVER give any personal or especially financial information over the phone from an unknown number.
And NEVER EVER call back on the number given by the scam call or email. They know then that you are a real person and you will be on every bad list forever.
Only give out information WHEN YOU initiate the call and know to whom you are speaking!!
NEVER EVER believe any company or (maybe lots of individuals!!) when they call out of the blue.
What this editor does:
I actually have all calls from people not in my contact list blocked on my cell phone. They can call and leave a message. I will listen to the message and if it's legit, I'll call back. otherwise, I block them.
The same with emails. If I get strange emails from someone purporting to be from PNM, for instance, the FIRST thing I do is look at the email address from whom it is sent. If it says it's from PNM, but has other letters or numbers and not just
One has to be very discerning and deliberate about what one believes and doesn't these days. The scammers aren't stupid, simply evil!
