SANTA FE, NM – New Mexico Counties recognized 11 counties with a 2023 Risk Awareness Program (RAP) Award during the NMC 2024 Legislative Conference on January 18, 2024. The RAP is a workplace risk control educational program that aims to reduce the frequency and severity of county claims through better risk awareness and safety practices. Twenty counties currently participate in the RAP.
Grant County – For successfully completing year 5 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing law enforcement claims by 44%
Hidalgo County – For successfully completing year 9 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing multi-line claims by 100%, auto claims by 100%, and had no increase in law enforcement claims
Lincoln County – For successfully completing year 3 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing auto claims by 20%
Luna County – For successfully completing year 10 of the NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing workers' compensation claims by 12%
McKinley County – For successfully completing year 15 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing workers' compensation claims by 10% and multi-line claims by 53%
Sandoval County – For successfully completing year 9 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing multi-line claims by 57%
Sierra County – For successfully completing year 7 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing workers' compensation claims by 40%, auto claims by 13%, and law enforcement claims by 100%
Socorro County – For Successfully completing year 6 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing multi-line claims by 37% and law enforcement claims by 100%
Taos County - For Successfully completing year 13 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing multi-line claims by 11%, auto claims by 51%, and law enforcement claims by 27%
Torrance County - For Successfully completing year 12 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing workers' compensation claims by 75%, auto claims by 10%, and law enforcement claims by 40%
Valencia County - For Successfully completing year 15 of NM Counties' Risk Awareness Program (RAP) and reducing auto claims by 12% and law enforcement claims by 79%
