SASSSilver City, NM – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is pleased to announce that Silver Regional SASS has been selected as the recipient of its Q2 donation, funded through a portion of cafeteria sales. This initiative is part of GRMC's new outreach program, Gila Regional CARES; Community, Assistance, Resources, Engagement, and Support.

Silver Regional SASS provides free, comprehensive services to survivors of sexual assault and trauma, including advocacy, counseling, crisis intervention, and medical accompaniment. They also help address essential needs such as food, transportation, and housing. Based in Silver City, SASS operates both a Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) clinic, serving individuals across Grant, Hidalgo, and Luna counties.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, GRMC senior leadership presented a donation check to Chelsea Cooper, Executive Director, and Monica Davis, Programs Director of SASS.

"This generous donation will help us continue delivering these vital services to individuals who have experienced trauma or sexual assault," said Chelsea Cooper.

GRMC is deeply grateful for the critical work Silver Regional SASS does in Grant County and the surrounding areas. Their commitment to healing and advocacy is truly inspiring, and GRMC is proud to support their mission.
