CommonsGRMCSilver City, NM – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) began a new program in which a portion its cafeteria sales are donated each quarter of 2025 to a local non-profit organization. This meaningful contribution reflects GRMC's ongoing commitment to the well-being of Grant County residents.

The Commons: Center for Food Security and Sustainability was selected for Q1 (January through March 2025). Senior leaders from GRMC—including CEO Robert Whitaker, CFO Leonard Binkley, Associate Administrator Matthew Stephens, and Director of Quality Ramona Wilson—visited The Commons on Thursday, May 8, 2025, to present the donation.

"The Commons plays an essential role in fighting food insecurity across our region," said Iris Nolasco, Director of The Commons. "We deliver food to communities surrounding Silver City, reaching as far as Hachita, NM. This generous support from GRMC will make a real difference."

GRMC is proud to acknowledge the exemplary commitment of The Commons team. Their tireless efforts to nourish and uplift Grant County residents and surrounding areas are both inspiring and essential. It is a privilege to stand alongside them in building a stronger, healthier community.

GRMC is excited to announce that Silver Regional SASS (Sexual Assault Support Services) has been chosen to receive its Q2 donation. The community is welcome to dine at GRMC's cafeteria where a positive impact is made one meal at a time. To view the weekly menu, please visit GRMC's Facebook page.
