Silver City, NM – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is proud to announce a new partnership with the Silver City Food Co-Op, aimed at supporting healthier lifestyles for hospital staff and the broader community. This collaboration is part of GRMC's Semi-Sweet September initiative, which encourages mindful eating and reduced sugar intake.
As a gesture of support, the Co-Op is offering a discount on yearly memberships and two shopping coupons to all GRMC employees during the month of September. This exclusive benefit makes it easier for staff to access fresh, local, and health-conscious products, reinforcing GRMC's commitment to employee wellness and community engagement.
"Part of our strategic plan was to get more involved with the community, so when this opportunity came up, we were all in," exclaimed Kevin Waters, General Manager of the Co-Op. Waters visited GRMC on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, to meet employees, answer questions about the Co-Op, and pass out coupons and low-sugar snacks. The partnership reflects a shared vision between GRMC and the Co-Op: to foster a culture of health, sustainability, and collaboration in Silver City. By working together, both organizations are helping to create more opportunities for individuals to make informed, nutritious choices.
