As another difficult session comes to a close, we are proud to announce that by working together, we have been able to secure funding that will make a real impact on a local level in Southern New Mexico-in every community that we represent. For example, we were able to provide $700,000 jointly to purchase a critically needed CT scanner for Gila Regional Medical Center. This scanner improves local patient access for this service.

Here are the other Capital Outlay funded projects for Southern New Mexico:

• $220,000 to construct and improve the parking lot at the Grant County Airport
• $250,000 to renovate the Grant County Detention Center
• $470,000 to purchase and equip vehicles and heavy equipment for the City of Bayard
• $150,000 to purchase vehicles for Hurley
• $60,000 to equip and furnish, including accessibility improvements, to the Fort Bayard properties in Santa Clara
• $100,000 to demolish and remove existing structures and to purchase and equip affordable housing in Santa Clara
• $75,000 to purchase equipment for Santa Clara
• $150,00 to purchase and equip park improvements in Santa Clara
• $900,000 to renovate, equip and furnish the City Hall Annex Building in Silver City
• $200,000 to construct, renovate and furnish improvements to Gough Park in Silver City
• $600,000 to construct new cells at the Southwest Solid Waste Authority Landfill
• $1,680,000 to purchase, install and equip Communication Systems to improve communications capabilities and enhance Border Security.

These opportunities total close to $5 million in local, much needed assistance on a municipal, county and quality of life basis. It has been, and continues to be, our honor to represent you in Santa Fe.

Sincerely,
