Dan,

Your leadership is ineffective, and your expectations are unrealistic. You've wasted money ($80,000? Probably more?) on a program to fix the problems you created, forcing employees to give presentations on basic concepts because you blame everyone but yourself.

The employees presenting don't even want to be there, and the staff doesn't care, leaving them to bear the burden. You and your leadership team should be the ones leading these efforts, but instead, you hide away, as always. "Too busy"?

It's also way too late for this. We all know nothing will change. You weren't even fired after the sexual harassment allegations. You blame healthcare, patients, and staff, but this isn't the first time you've run things into the ground. The damage is done. HMS's reputation is sealed for the next 5-10 years.

No one wants to work here, and no one wants to see a provider that's unhappy or likely to leave. Ask any employee – we're tired of the time and money wasted on these classes and programs. The word is spreading. Employees and patients all say what they feel, and they should. These things are just a distraction to save face and buy time.

We're sick of fearing for our jobs, being afraid of management, and dealing with endless policies that hurt morale and micromanage. Are senior leaders held to the same standards? Do they face random drug tests and unfair treatment, or receive minimal raises based on arbitrary evaluations? Do they also not receive grace?

Senior leaders make over $100,000, but what are they actually contributing? We're doing all the heavy lifting and dirty work. The exodus of employees is written off as "normal," but other organizations are snatching up our providers. Once everyone leaves and new staff comes in, the cycle will repeat.

You stated that if the presidency said we can't see immigrants or LGBTQ patients, you'd oblige. Patient centered? No. You're not.

Carmen Acosta, you've lost all our respect. The letter written to the board by doctors and practitioners was brushed off and your support for leadership is unwavering. Whatever hold Dan has over you is clear, as you're standing by while something that could benefit the community collapses.

We hope Custom Learning System teaches you something because no one else sees it as beneficial. Hope the five stars on patients and employees is worth it because it'll never happen. Throw money at worthless endeavors, but complain how we're hurting for money at every staff meeting.

Maybe take a pay cut? Yeah, right. As long as you and all the senior leaders sit in your ivory towers, you're good.

Signed,

Most of the Staff
