Democrats Want To Audit Democrats

Democrats Want To Audit Democrats
by Mike Bibb

"But I would say the policy, number one, is we're going to audit everything. We're going to audit the campaign. We're going to audit Future Forward. We're going to audit the DNC so people can know. Do you have any idea where that money went? Does anybody have any idea where that money went?" — James Carville, The Washington Examiner, Nov. 30, 2024.

Longtime Louisiana Democrat strategist James "Cueball" Carville, is suddenly demanding a financial audit of Kamala Harris' Presidential campaign.

An "audit" is often PC jargon for "Who stole the money?"

Keep in mind, her run for the White House only lasted a few months, but her super PAC spent close to a billion and a-half dollars, and ended up, reportedly, over $20 million in debt.

Even by Democrat's standards, that's a lot of dough for nothing in return.

Maybe I should say, that's a lot of greenbacks to spend on a losing candidate. Kamala doled out three times as much as Donald Trump's campaign and still lost the popular and Electoral College vote.

Carville is only one of many wondering where all the money disappeared to. Several big time Democrat Party donors are thinking the same thing.

He didn't mince words on the "Politics War Room" podcast, source of the Washington Examiner's article.

Commenting upon Kamala's Future Forward super PAC (Political Action Committee), and speculating where over a billion dollars were spent, Carville said "I mean, I have some places I'd start looking. I promise you this: The amount of money and the amount of lobbyists that were involved in this campaign is staggering."

Wow, when a Democrat uses the word "staggering" to describe their propensity to spend other people's money, then Kamala's campaign buddies must have set a new record.

Sort of like winning an Olympic Gold Medal in the Campaign Pole Vault Spending event.

Apparently, the sky's the limit.

Looking into the future, Carville believes Kamala's reckless squandering may adversely impact Democrat donations, believing it's "unfathomable" how much money she tossed around and how little in return she had to show for it.

"The resistance is going to have trouble raising money" he said. "They're really pissed. And the damage that the 2024 campaign has done, that the damage this decade (Biden era) has done to the Democrat brand, is almost unfathomable, almost unfathomable."

A week later, Carville doubled down on Joe's blundering, commenting "The most tragic in American politics in my lifetime is President Biden. What's so sad, it didn't have to be this way. He brought it all on himself" — Fox News, Dec. 6, 2024.

I'm not entirely sure Joe brought it all on himself. Sure, he's incompetent, has difficulty telling the truth and accepting responsibility for flubs, but I think he's had substantial help from Democrat big shots who realized the election was slipping away with Joe at the helm. Between their constant bashing of Donald Trump, and Joe's disastrous performance during the Presidential Debates, Dem's were faced with the stark reality voters were shifting towards Trump and the Republicans.

Like it or not, Joe and Kamala was all the Democrats could suit up. Not enough to overcome Trump's preelection poll lead.

Adding insult to injury, Harris recently went on TV and explained her version of the campaign, how things didn't quite go the way she hoped, mentioned the $1.4 billion spent and the additional $20 million in debt incurred, and generally apologized for having lost the election.

Yet, ever the politician, she was optimistic 2028 will be more positive for Democrats.

That remains to be seen. I would imagine the fortunes or failures of the 2028 election will be determined by two things: How successful Republicans are between now and then, and if Democrats can get their act together, formulate winning public policies without going even further left, and nominate rational thinking candidates who don't reflect the mindset of coastal elites, Hollywood or the liberal media.

Similar strategies to how the party used to be years ago before drifting into the nether world of woke socialist politics — and sticks with the candidate that actually wins the Democrat Primary Election process, instead of changing horses in the middle of the race.

Remember, Kamala became the Dem's choice without ever receiving a single Primary Election vote. The fix was in before most people realized what had happened.

However, as we've seen, not even wagering buckets of money on a late entry, unqualified contender, guarantees victory. Kamala didn't offer what the voters were looking for. Obviously. Many of Trump's winning ballots were from disgruntled Democrats.

Also, if Carville's intended audit of Kam's campaign reveals too many incriminating spending disputes, then this misstep may haunt Dem's 2026/28 election chances.

Sounds like good advice. The problem is convincing bosses of the Democrat National Committee — the one's actually in charge of everything — could suffer comparable losses in the future if they continue to pull these boneheaded stunts.

Sometimes, political failures of these magnitudes take several election cycles to recover. Voters don't normally forget in a year or two or four. Especially when the mistakes are undeniably grievous.

When a ton of cash is sitting around, a little financial hanky-panky is expected. But if the larcenous tricks begin adding up to millions of unaccounted dollars, many Democrat campaign contributors will begin looking elsewhere to invest their money — or stay home.
