ALBUQUERQUE, OCTOBER 9—Democrat Senator Martin Heinrich's unwavering support for Kamala Harris's radical environmental agenda, which includes an anti-fracking stance, risks the livelihoods of thousands of New Mexico's hardworking families.
Heinrich's alliance with fellow Democrat Rep. Gabe Vasquez, who also backs extreme environmental policies, is part of a radical movement to prioritize ideology over real New Mexico jobs. Their policies that would ban fracking would eliminate more than an estimated 140,000 jobs in New Mexico's energy industry.
New Mexico's economy heavily depends on oil and gas, which plays a crucial role in providing high-paying jobs and essential funding for education and numerous other state programs. Banning fracking, as advocated by Heinrich and Harris, would decimate New Mexico's #1 industry, leading to imminent economic collapse for thousands of families throughout the state.
"Martin Heinrich's backing of Kamala Harris's anti-fracking stance would devastate New Mexico's oil and gas industry, resulting in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs and wreaking havoc on our state's economy," said New Mexico RNC Committeeman and State Representative Jim Townsend (R-Chaves, Eddy & Otero). "Their policies are a direct attack on the hardworking middle-class citizens who rely on this vital industry to provide for their families. Heinrich and Vasquez are more interested in pandering to radical environmentalists than protecting New Mexicans' jobs. The extreme and destructive agenda of Heinrich and Vasquez is leading our state to the brink of collapse, and New Mexicans simply cannot bear the cost any longer."
