Santa Fe, NM — Senate Conservation Committee will be hearing a package of bills that will decimate our state's vital oil & gas industry. The committee will be presented with four bills, first on the agenda is SB 4. This measure, if passed, would further disrupt our state's vital industries– especially oil and gas production– by tracking and limiting the emissions of virtually all activity in New Mexico. In response, the Republican Ranking Member, Senator Candy Ezzell, has issued the following statement:

"The progressives in Santa Fe couldn't wait more than one full week to try and destroy our state's most important industries and sources of revenue." The Senator continued, "These bills are purely far-left special interest proposals that will kill thousands of jobs and shut down our state's sources of funding. We rely on these industries, we house some of the cleanest and safest drilling, farming, and ranching operations in the world, right here in New Mexico. If Senate Bill 4 is passed, I hope the Senators who voted for it will be responsible for replacing the food we eat and the funding that pays for our schools, roads, and essential government services we as New Mexicans rely on."
