Leadership calls on him to step down from the race immediately.

ALBUQUERQUE, OCTOBER 10—Democrat Rep. Gabe Vasquez's past run-ins with the law continue to come back to haunt him. Today, another shocking article exposes a disturbing police report detailing that Representative Vasquez threatened to murder and bury someone.

The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce issued the following statement:

"Whether he's harassing a co-worker with the n-word after being fired, yelling so loud at his girlfriend that the police get dispatched, or threatening to kill and bury someone, Representative Gabe Vasquez once again proves that he does not possess the character worthy of a New Mexico Representative. Gabe Vasquez has shown he resorts to uncontrollable anger, threatening, or verbal assault when confronted with difficult situations. The service in the U.S. Congress requires constant exposure to pressure. Gabe Vasquez cannot control his outbursts, and RPNM calls on him to step down from the race immediately over the embarrassment and disgrace he has brought to NM-02. Vasquez's failed open-border, anti-police voting record, along with his disturbing outbursts, highlight the urgent need for Yvette Herrell to return to the second district."
