Brown Bag Lunch at the Silver City Museum: ''The Legacy of Lloyd Kiva New and the Institute of American Indian Arts"

Carmen Vendelin, Director of the Silver City Museum, will give a talk based on an exhibition she curated which is on view at the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe until October 10, 2016. The exhibition includes work by artists from the 1960s to the present including Fritz Scholder, Neil Parsons, T. C. Cannon and Melanie Yazzie among others. Lloyd Kiva New devoted himself to the goal of empowering individual students to reach their full potential as people and artists through a connection to traditional tribal art and culture utilized to create a personal artistic expression.
