Rev. Claudia Elferdink talks about individualism being central in Unitarian Universalism, especially in America. It permeates life in our fellowships and congregations. Our first principle asserts the “inherent worth and dignity of every person.” Our commitment to individualism is firmly rooted in our history. We will take a look at where that focus on individualism came from and the context it grew out of. Have we taken individualism too far?
And what about the second principle? How are we staying in balance between individualism and community? Come and explore opportunities to find a better way. Join us for coffee and conversation after the service.
