Sunday, November 06, 2022, 10:00am |
November 6 at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street -
Are you mad as h#ll? Have you had enough?
Please join us at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City for a timely but fun program of protest songs for and about political activism and social justice. Joe Neri will share, through music videos, some of the most important and powerful songs that have become cornerstones of the civil rights, anti-war, reproductive rights, and social justice rights movements over the past six decades.
“Music can and has changed the world, and never has our world needed changing more than right now. So, let’s get charged up, invigorated, and motivated for the November 8 elections.” Neri said.
Appropriate attendee attire colors are blue or pink or tie-dyed!
Joe Neri was a child of the 1960s, both culturally and musically. He bought his first guitar in Greenwich village in 1962 and has been a musician of the times ever since. In addition to performing solo around town, Joe also fronts his blues and classic rock band, Blues Dawg, and is also the musical director for UUFSC's Silver City Slickers. You can also catch him every Wednesday morning on "The Blues Show," his weekly radio show on Gila Mimbres Community Radio, KURU 89.1 FM right here in Silver City.
