BenBarryPromising young musician will play country and rock starting at 7:30 p.m.

Fans of live music can catch a special performance on Saturday, May 10, of Lordsburg singer-songwriter Ben Barry. The 17-year-old musical phenom is headlining a free outdoor concert at a new venue in town, Rusty's Grill, and it may be the last chance to see him play before he hits the big time.

"We're really excited to put on this concert and showcase the talents of a musician who we consider an up-and-coming star," Sundi La Marca Hendrix said. "Ben is so talented, and we know he's going far."

Barry, son of Jess Barry and Savanna Provencher, is a recent graduate of Animas High School. He's been playing guitar and fiddle since he was 10, and he has developed a uniquely modern style that's part country, part rock and part blues.

"I can't wait to play my first show in Lordsburg," Ben Barry said. "I'll be playing a little bit of everything, so come enjoy the free show. It's going to be a great evening."

The event will take place at Rusty's Grill at 900 E. Motel Drive and is sponsored by The Hidalgo Herald, along with Elbrock Water, Hampton Inn, La Buena Vida Ranch, Marsha Hill, and Goldhill Outpost.

"We're selling our famous barbecue plates, but the music is free," she said. "We'll have fun activities for kids, so bring the entire family and enjoy a night out."

Rusty's Grill will start serving barbecue at 4:30 p.m. until sold out. The music will start around 7:30 p.m. and will last two hours.

The show is completely free to the public and all ages are welcome. A limited amount of seating will be available, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

Reserved tables for the event are available for pre-sell. A table for two is available for $60 and includes two $20 meal vouchers. Tables for four are $110 and includes four meal vouchers. Meals include a choice of brisket or pork, a side item and a beverage.

"We have lots of space, so come enjoy some good music and good barbecue this weekend," Rusty Hendrix said. "It's going to be a fun and relaxing evening."
