For 11 years Give Grandly! has created space to connect and celebrate community non-profits. This year, 65 nonprofit organizations will participate in our -- live and in-person! -- event Saturday, May 4, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Makers Market in downtown Silver City. Online donations are also available to allow all to contribute and show appreciation for the work being done by these vital organizations. Our online platform opened April 20th at www.givegrandly.org , to inaugurate a month of giving.

All nonprofits depend heavily on contributions of time, talent, and treasure from their communities. Volunteers, grants, and critical donations are essential to be able to offer their services to us. Give Grandly! makes it easy for you to learn more about these organizations and how you can help them thrive. You can even tune in this year to KURU 89.1 FM or listen online at gmcr.org, to hear interviews with participants and attendees live at the Give Grandly! event.

They inspire us with arts and culture—think of our vibrant local museums, theaters, festivals, murals, and maker's markets. They preserve the stories of our ancestors, whether ancient, indigenous, or pioneer, through history and archeology. They encourage lifelong learning, through literacy programs, libraries, and continuing education, and they engage our youth with programs that are supportive of and relevant to them.

"Give Grandly! has become more than just an event, it is now a holiday for nonprofits to celebrate one another," says Mary Stone of Future Forge, "We participate in Give Grandly because it embodies the spirit of community and collaboration that defines our mission. Give Grandly! isn't just a day of giving; it's a celebration of unity among nonprofits, a platform for sharing resources and building partnerships. Through this event, our organization has not only received vital support but has also forged lasting connections that amplify our impact in the community. Give Grandly! is more than just a fundraiser; it's a catalyst for positive change and collective empowerment."

"The collaborative spirit of Give Grandly! has reinforced the power of collective action, demonstrating how united efforts can create meaningful change and enhance the well-being of our community," says Randy Salars of the Silver City Gospel Mission, "This community-wide fundraising effort has provided us with vital funding to support and expand our programs and raised awareness about our mission, drawing in new volunteers and advocates."

Nonprofits preserve, protect, and defend our increasingly fragile natural environment, and they protect and advocate for wild and domestic animals. They create well-being so that our diverse communities not only survive but thrive. "It is our touchstone with the community to let them know we are here and protecting land in this area, as well as across the entire state and into southeastern Arizona," said Ron Troy of New Mexico Land Conservancy, "It is our opportunity to get out in the community and let people know what land we have been able to protect over the past year and how NMLC along with the generosity of many has now protected over 130 properties comprised of approximately 700,000 acres."

"Give Grandly is now the largest and most effective fundraising mechanism in Grant County," says Patrice Mutchnick of Heart of the Gila. Sarah Zamora of the Silver City Museum Society says, "Give Grandly is not only a day of giving but also the perfect opportunity for residents to learn more about all the offerings for giving, volunteering, learning and exposure."

We can support all of our nonprofits' important activities by showing up at Give Grandly, and by getting to know the nonprofit organizations that sustain all of us. This year, try your hand at fiber arts, saw with a crosscut, make fire by friction, take home a bag of biochar for your garden, construct a miniature adobe home out of homemade play-doh, help with a community mural, and search Silver City in a downtown scavenger hunt! Join us on May 4th and donate in person or online at www.givegrandly.org .

There are many ways you can donate during Give Grandly. At our website, you can create a shopping cart of up to 10 nonprofits, then pay in one easy credit card transaction. All donations, no matter how big or how small, are welcome, and all are tax-deductible.
