SilverChoraleBryce Wooton, directs choir members of the Silver Chorale on one of their many "folk song" themed musical selections for their upcoming performances Friday May 3, at Terrazas Funeral Chapel in Santa Clara on 1 Ft. Bayard Road at 7pm and Sunday May 5, at the Silver City Church of Christ in Silver City at 1920 Little Walnut Road at 3pm. Melinda McClanahan will accompany the group on drum, Alexis Shirey and Karen Valentine, both on guitar for the song "Come Ye Ladies and Lairds." Laurel Brown is the choir's accompanist. The concerts are free to the public.Silver Chorale, a community mixed choir, is winding up rehearsals for this spring semester's concerts coming soon. Friday, May 3, the chorale will perform at Terrazas Funeral Chapel at 7pm in Santa Clara at 1 Ft. Bayard Road, and Sunday, May 5 at the Silver City Church of Christ, located at 1920 Little Walnut Road in Silver City at 3pm.  The performances will be about an hour and a half long with intermission. The spring season presents a lighter fair with a "folk song" theme, as the singers will perform some recognizable favorites like "Shenandoah," "Cindy," "My Bonnie Lass She Smileth," "Down in the Valley to Pray," "Aura Lee," and seven others, plus two songs in Spanish, "La Martiana" and "La Llorna."

Bryce Wooton directs the choir, Valdeen Wooton is the assistant director and Laurel Brown is the accompanist with Rhonda Gorog backing her up when needed.  "The concerts are free to the public, although donations are greatly accepted and appreciated, since we are a 501C (3)  organization," stated a board member.  The Silver Chorale will once again be participating in the Give Grandly Fundraising event on Saturday, May 4th, both on-line at www.givegrandly.org  and at the Makers Market in Downtown Silver City.  For more information contact 575-654-1976.
