Silver Chorale, a community mixed choir, is winding up rehearsals for this spring semester's concerts coming soon. Friday, May 3, the chorale will perform at Terrazas Funeral Chapel at 7pm in Santa Clara at 1 Ft. Bayard Road, and Sunday, May 5 at the Silver City Church of Christ, located at 1920 Little Walnut Road in Silver City at 3pm. The performances will be about an hour and a half long with intermission. The spring season presents a lighter fair with a "folk song" theme, as the singers will perform some recognizable favorites like "Shenandoah," "Cindy," "My Bonnie Lass She Smileth," "Down in the Valley to Pray," "Aura Lee," and seven others, plus two songs in Spanish, "La Martiana" and "La Llorna."
Bryce Wooton directs the choir, Valdeen Wooton is the assistant director and Laurel Brown is the accompanist with Rhonda Gorog backing her up when needed.  "The concerts are free to the public, although donations are greatly accepted and appreciated, since we are a 501C (3)  organization," stated a board member. The Silver Chorale will once again be participating in the Give Grandly Fundraising event on Saturday, May 4th, both on-line at www.givegrandly.org and at the Makers Market in Downtown Silver City. For more information contact 575-654-1976.
