Gila Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees announces intention for new management partnership with Ovation for five-year term.

Silver City, New (March 13, 2025),  Regional Medical Center ("GRMC") today announced that its Board of Trustees voted to finalize a management services agreement to form a new management partnership with Ovation Healthcare.

The Board's consensus to enter into a contractual agreement with Ovation comes after a thorough eight-month process of evaluating potential management partners. The GRMC Board of Trustees enlisted the assistance of an external consulting firm to help solicit responses from interested parties. GRMC received seven proposals and evaluated potential management partners based on agreed upon criteria including ability to maintain and enhance the long-term financial viability of GRMC, recruit and retain leadership and providers, and ensuring all GRMC patients receive high-quality patient care. Through this rigorous selection process Ovation Healthcare was chosen as the management partner.

GRMC is, and will remain, a county-owned facility, with oversight provided by the GRMC Board of Trustees. As GRMC's designated management partner, Ovation will report directly to the Board of Trustees, members of which are appointed by the County Commission.

Over the coming months, GRMC will work with HealthTech and Ovation on the transition. As part of this transition, the GRMC Board intends to work with HealthTech to retain the current CEO as a GRMC employee going forward. Specific arrangements will be determined over the coming months and will also include an assessment of GRMC to be performed by Ovation.

In accordance with the terms outlined in the management services agreement, Ovation will offer comprehensive support to the hospital across several critical areas. These include executive leadership, financial management, staff education, and strategic planning. The management partner's role is designed to enhance the hospital's operational efficiency, strengthen its financial position, foster continuous learning, and guide the organization toward achieving its long-term goals. The GRMC Board of Trustees believes that maintaining local ownership, combined with the added expertise of an external management partner, will strengthen the services essential to the community and contribute to the ongoing success of GRMC.
