TheActrix Studio Thanks Community Partners for Supporting DitchSpeare 2025

Silver City, NM — The Actrix Studio is proud to present the 2nd annual DitchSpeare: Shakespeare in the Big Ditch Park, taking place April 17–29, 2025. This unique celebration of live, outdoor theater brings the timeless works of William Shakespeare, and 17th century contemporaries Lope de Vega and Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, to the heart of downtown Silver City—"and it wouldn't be possible without the support of our incredible community partners", says Wendy Spurgeon, DitchSpeare producer.

"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Mimbres Region Arts Council for their generous support and ongoing commitment to the arts in our region," Spurgeon continues. "Their contribution has been instrumental in making DitchSpeare a reality once again."

DitchSpeare Director, Hallie Harris adds, "We also wish to thank the following organizations for their collaboration and support:

This free annual event is presented in the Big Ditch Park, where professional-level community actors and musicians bring Shakespeare's wit, wisdom, and drama to life under the open sky. Audiences are encouraged to bring a blanket, a friend, and a sense of adventure—to experience Shakespeare in Silver City's unique beauty.

DitchSpeare runs April 17-29 in the Big Ditch Park between 6th and 7th Streets at 6pm Thursdays through Sundays with midweek shows Tuesdays at 6pm and additional Saturday shows at 4pm. For more information, including how to support the show, visit: https://theactrix.studio/DitchSpeare
