Gila Regional Medical Center is conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for hospitals. This survey gathers input from all members of the community the hospital serves. The primary purpose of a CHNA is to identify and prioritize significant health needs within the community and to recognize resources that may help address these needs. Upon summary of the community input, the hospital must also provide annual updates to the IRS on how these health needs are being addressed.

"A community health needs assessment gives organizations like Gila Regional Medical Center comprehensive information about our community's health status, needs, and concerns," says Gila Regional Medical Center CEO Robert Whitaker. "One of our priorities is to truly understand our community and then use the information we gather to determine how we may best utilize our strengths and resources to make an impact on community needs today and in the future."

The community health needs assessment survey will be open for responses from August 19th to September 20th.
