Estate planning includes wills, trusts, living wills, power of attorney and other considerations to help people determine how they would like their assets to be distributed upon their death.

"It's never too early to begin estate planning," said Sherwood. "A solid plan gives you peace of mind and peace for those you love."

In her practice, Sherwood assists clients in the areas of estate planning, probate, and real property, among other areas of the law. Raised in Silver City, Sherwood is a graduate of the UNM School of Law, and was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2018. Prior to her career in civil law, Sherwood served nearly 20 years as a public school teacher.

"I'm truly grateful to the citizens of Grant County for trusting me to provide solutions to the civil legal problems they face," added Sherwood. "I look forward to sharing information and expertise to help people organize their estate."

The February Death Cafe meets at 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Silver City Public Library. For more information, please contact Lisa Jimenez at (575) 574-5473.
