Bayard, NM – The Bayard Public Library is excited to offer a week of engaging, hands-on Spring Break programming from March 17 – 21, 2025. With activities designed for children, teens, and families, the library is committed to providing a fun and enriching break for the community.

"We are excited to offer new programming this Spring Break," said Cindy "Renee" Provencio, Head Librarian of Bayard Public Library. "We will have two days of art for all ages and 3 days of theater workshops for grades 1-12"

The Spring Break Programming lineup includes:

Monday, March 17, 3-5 pm – Make and Take Air Clay Pinch Pot: All ages are welcome to make a pinch pot out of air-drying clay. Participants can either take the pinch pot home or leave it at the library to paint the next day.

Tuesday, March 18, 3-5 pm– Paint or Make a Clay Pinch Pot: All ages are welcome to paint their pinch pot from the day before or make a pinch pot if they missed the previous day.

Wednesday, March 19, 2-5 pm – Drop-in Drama Workshop, Grades 1 - 6: children in grades 1- 6 are welcome to drop in for this brand-new program. We will play theater games, create living stage pictures and make and take-home props, led by Assistant Librarian, Wendy Spurgeon.

Thursday, March 20, 2-5 pm – Drop-in Drama Workshop, Middle School Grades: Middle Schoolers are welcome to drop in for this brand-new program. The workshop will include character mask-making, writing original scenes and monologues, and learning stage performance skills, led by Assistant Librarian, Wendy Spurgeon.

Friday, March 21, 2-5 pm – Drop-in Drama Workshop, High School Grades: High Schoolers are welcome to drop in for this brand-new program. This exciting workshop will include a voice acting workshop, stage combat techniques, as well as learning comedy and improv skills.

All programs are free and open to the public, with no registration required. The Bayard Public Library welcomes individuals, families and students to attend our exciting programs not only during Spring Break but all year long.
