Bayard, NM – February 12, 2025 – The Bayard Public Library is excited to announce new Saturday hours to better serve the community! Beginning Saturday, February 22, the library will be open on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The addition of Saturday hours is part of the library's ongoing efforts to provide greater access to critical resources, programs, and services for the residents of Bayard and surrounding areas in Grant County. These new hours aim to accommodate working families, students, and community members who may find weekday visits challenging.

"We are thrilled to offer Saturday hours!" said Cindy "Renee" Provencio, Head Librarian. "By opening on Saturdays, we hope to give more people the opportunity to explore and access our resources, attend programs, and connect with their neighbors."

Additionally, the Bayard Public Library has some new and exciting programming in the works for young children and their families as well as for teens.

"A community survey is circulating to identify the best days and times for 'Mother Goose on the Loose' programming, the award-winning early literacy for children ages birth to 3 along with their parents and caregivers," adds Wendy Spurgeon, Assistant Librarian. "After school and school break drama programs for youth and teens are soon to be offered as well. Our Bayard Public Library is bursting with new energy and opportunities for the whole community!"

The library offers a wide range of services, including:

• Free Wi-Fi and computer access
• Printing, faxing, and scanning
• Books, audio books, and DVDs for all ages
• Educational and creative programming for children and adults
• Comfortable spaces to read and relax
• Conference room available to reserve by community members or groups
• Wall space for art exhibits open to any artists in Grant County
