Every spring the Give Grandly Coalition, with major support from the Grant County Community Foundation, organizes Give Grandly, its big fundraising marathon for area nonprofits. The first planning meeting will be held at The Commons on 501 E 13th Street at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Area nonprofits that wish to participate in the event this year are encouraged to email the Give Grandly Coalition at
Nonprofits provide a great range of activities and services that contribute to the quality of life here in southwest New Mexico. They run food pantries and shelters; rescue animals; provide activities for children; promote literacy; preserve culture; promote art; support libraries, museums, schools and the university; grant scholarships; foster economic development; advocate for the environment; maintain trails; preserve historical and archeological sites; organize community festivals, plays, concerts, lectures, exhibits, field trips—and much more.
Funds raised through Give Grandly help nonprofits to stay in operation, reach their goals, and serve our community. With each successive year, more and more organizations have participated and more funds have been raised. In 2023, the community came through in a big way, contributing a total of $235,505.00 in donations and matching funds for the 63 participating nonprofits. If we as a community can keep up that kind of giving, the total raised over the nine years of Give Grandly in our corner of New Mexico could reach $1.6 million dollars.
"We look forward to another successful Give Grandly in May and welcome nonprofits to participate in planning the event," states Bernadette Smyth, executive director of Grant County Community Foundation. "Please come along to the January planning meeting to sign up for the event and find out about our new web platform and all the ways you can fundraise in 2024"."
