On Tuesday September 23 at noon, Vincent Laupola, manager of the Silver City Gospel Mission, will present an update on current affairs in the realm of food insecurity and homelessness. He will be available for questions and answers after his talk.

Since 1987 the Gospel Mission has served the homeless and others living at or below the poverty line. At its 111 S. Texas Street location, the Mission serves hot, well-balanced meals daily out of its soup kitchen and also runs a thrift shop and food/clothing bank. Sierra House, the Mission's shelter next door, gives women and their families a safe and warm transitional place to live.

The Rotary Club will meet at its new location in the conference room of Gila Regional Medical Center. Visitors should enter through the main entrance. There is a brief "meet and greet", a short business meeting and then the speaker has the floor. The club welcomes members of the public to the meetings. Lunch is in the hospital cafeteria. Guests are advised to arrive in the cafeteria well before noon.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
