Grand Re-Opening of Bayard Public Library

The Bayard Public Library is thrilled to announce its grand re-opening on Monday, September 16, 2024, following a transition period. The library will re-open at 9:30 AM and will feature light refreshments.

Joining us will be the Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network from 1- 5 pm. Find out more about their tree stewardship project, fill out a survey about your tree planting and tree care priorities in Bayard, and get a free desert willow or velvet ash seedling! The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network provides community forestry planning and stewardship for a shady future in Bayard, Hurley, Santa Clara, Silver City, Deming and Lordsburg.

The grand re-opening marks an exciting transition for the Bayard Public Library as it welcomes a new team dedicated to continuing and enhancing the library's mission. After a staff transition, the new library staff has been working hard to organize and train. We want to thank Ken Dayer, Director of the Silver City Public Library, for providing essential training and guidance during this transition.
Come and meet new staff, check out and return books, use the computers, play video games, get free seeds from the Southwest NM Seed Library, and book our conference room for meetings or study sessions.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome our community back to the Bayard Public Library," said new Head Librarian, Cindy "Renee" Provencio. "We realize that the multi-month closure of our critical access library was hard on our community. We appreciate the community's support during this transition and look forward to building on our strong foundation."

The library has been committed to serving the Bayard community for decades, and this transition provides an opportunity to refresh its services and outreach. The grand re-opening will welcome our community back to our beloved library and re-connect patrons with critical services.
