JoeyCruisersDust off your saddle shoes and take your poodle skirt out of storage, ‘cause we're having a good ol' fashioned, rock 'n' roll sock hop celebrating the music and dances of the 1950s.

The Social Justice Team of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City is hosting a sock hop dance party on Friday, June 7, from 6 to 9 pm at the UU Fellowship Hall - 3845 N. Swan Street in Silver City, New Mexico.

Live music by Joey & the Cruisers (aka Blues Dawg), featuring Joey "I don't need no stinkin' pompadour" Neri, Davey "The Fretboard Wizard" Zaborac, Ricky "I am vintage 1941" Spiegel, and Teddy "Backbeat" Whittemore.

Period attire is encouraged but not required. You can visit our photo booth to capture the moment. And, of course, there will be refreshments.

All are welcome - all ages. A donation of $10 (kids under 18 free) is suggested but not required. All proceeds go to the UUFSC Social Justice Team to help fund its activities in supporting local food banks and homeless shelters, the Deming and Palomas shelters for refugees and asylum seekers, the El Refugio shelter for victims of domestic abuse, New Mexico women's health centers, and much more.

Be there or be square! We'll be twistin' the night away!
