On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, Will Hawkins, Superintendent of Silver City Schools, will speak to Rotary,highlighting the critical facility needs and deferred maintenance issues facing our schools. The event will take place on June 4th at 12:00pm at the WNMU Student Memorial Building, Second Floor, Sunset Room.
The presentation aims to inform community leaders and stakeholders about the current state of our school facilities and the urgent need for improvements. With over $62 million in deferred maintenance needs, our district is facing significant challenges that impact the learning environment for our students. Priority one areas, which include crucial systems such as roofs and HVAC, account for over $7 million of these needs.
Superintendent Hawkins will lead the presentation, providing detailed insights into the specific maintenance needs of our schools, including the pressing issues for Silver Schools. The presentation will also cover the upcoming August 20 mail-in bond election, which is crucial for addressing these needs and ensuring a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment for our students.

The Rotary Club meets every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. for lunch in the WNMU Student Memorial Building, Second Floor, Sunset Room.
